Project HEADWAY: Can Project and Product Management Coexist?

Ways of Working

Overview

Project management and product management represent two fundamental mindsets and schools of thought around how solutions get produced and results get delivered. They start in very different domains and embody different philosophies and practices.

The domains of project management and product management each have enthusiastic adherents. For many, this advocacy borders on the ideological. Those grounded in each school are often inclined to believe that their approach is the one true way to get solutions delivered. Often this is accompanied by a dismissal—and occasionally outright vilification—of other practices and approaches.

A more practical and pragmatic question to ask is, “Can product management and product management coexist?” Is there a place for aspects of each in delivering project work? Are there ways to borrow and adapt principles and practices from one in order to augment and enhance how solutions get delivered?

This webinar explores the alignments and differences between product and project management. The contributions of each to delivering effective solutions is explored, and where there are overlaps and gaps. In particular, the ways that they can complement each other are explored, as well as the cautions that practitioners should keep in mind.

If you are wondering whether, where or how project management and product management can work together, this is a webinar that you won’t want to miss.
