Speaker: Brad Huggins
Date: Wednesday, March 22nd, 2017
Meeting Start Time: 6:00 PM
Meeting End Time: 7:30 PM
Location: 3120 Sun Bowl Drive - UTEP
Speaker's Bio:
Brad graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Construction Engineering Management, way back in 1977. His cumulative experience in construction includes about 13 years managing commercial construction projects; 12 years involved in large civil projects – such as dams & bridges; and then the most recent 7 years serving Western Oregon University as their Construction Manager overseeing the construction of several new buildings on their campus including a Rec Center; a Residence Hall (the first large-scale LEED Platinum certified, in the nation); a Science Building; and an Education Building. He was born and raised in Oregon, but during his career, he has lived in California, Washington, Oregon, Hawaii and Canada – and now Texas.
One unique aspect of his career is that at two different times – 17 years apart – he was working on what were, at their time, the largest construction projects in North America. The first was a $2.2billion nuclear power plant; and the second was a $7.5billion oil drilling platform.
